Following the Government decision to close schools on Friday we contacted parents of all 700 pupils at Wave academies in Devon and Cornwall to assess the potential need to open educational hubs for vulnerable children and children of key workers.
As we received only five requests spread across the whole of our area, it has been decided that it would not be in the best interests of the pupils, who would have to travel a different academy to their usual one at a time of travel restrictions, or our staff, to open hubs for such a small number. We are working with the parents of the five pupils to identify alternative provision.
We will continue to operate the Distance Model of Learning & Safeguarding until the end of the Easter term. Additional ongoing catch ups will happen during the Easter holidays. Further updates on provision will be communicated via email, text and the website www.waveedu.org so please check frequently.
