Huge congratulations to the team of pupils from The Shoreline Academy who took part in this year’s Ten Tors challenge.

Supported by staff members Sammie Symons and Chris Cutt-Hammonds, the five pupils came third in the nine miles distance – much to the delight of Shoreline principal Tessa Claridge.

“We are incredibly proud of our team” said Tessa.  “They had done some practice walks but nothing like the terrain on Dartmoor”.

“All five pupils worked as a team, helping each other set up their tents on the Friday evening and then supporting each other throughout the walk when it got a bit tough.  Despite experiencing some significant challenges along the way they all looked very happy walking up to the finish line and all of them have put their names down for a longer distance for next year’s event”.

“We credit their determination, focus and passion for their tremendous effort. A great achievement, well done!
